Applications are invited from qualified UTME, Direct Entry and transfer candidates seeking admission into State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State.

Official Application Notice

State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) — 2026/2027 Admission Exercise

Applications are hereby invited from candidates who:

  1. Sat for JAMB UTME examination or obtained JAMB Direct Entry form for 2026/2027 undergraduate admissions,
  2. Chose State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) as the University of FIRST CHOICE on JAMB CAPS,
  3. Did not choose University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) as the University of the FIRST CHOICE but must change to State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) as the University of FIRST CHOICE in JAMB CAPS.

To be eligible to apply:

  1. Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 30th of September, 2026.
  2. Candidates must have scored one hundred and fifty (150) or more in 2026 JAMB UTME examination.
  3. Candidates must have at least 5 O'level credit passes in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB) or its equivalent to include English, Mathematics, Physics and any other two subjects relevant to the programme of choice in a single sitting for Medicine & Surgery and not more than two sittings for other programmes.
  4. Candidates for Direct Entry for Medicine & Surgery must hold a minimum of second class upper division (2/1) in first degree or upper credit in HND in related programme from a recognized Institution and must be cleared by the awarding Institution on JAMB e-facility.
  5. Candidates for Direct Entry to other programmes must hold a minimum of second class lower division or its equivalent in OND, HND or first degree from a recognized Institution and must be cleared by the awarding Institution on JAMB e-facility.
  6. Candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of two thousand naira (₦2,000.00) only.

 IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Ensure that your details on JAMB CAPS match what you have on the Post-UTME application portal. For instance, ensure that your JAMB Registration number, date of birth, state of origin, etc. are as contained in your JAMB CAPS.
  2. Only candidates whose programmes of choice on JAMB CAPS are the same as on Post-UTME application will be considered for admission.
  3. Candidates must provide their valid mobile number and functional e-mail address for further communication.
  4. Candidates must upload their O'Level results on JAMB CAPS. CANDIDATES WHO FAIL TO DO SO WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSIONS.
  5. NO SINGLE CANDIDATE SHOULD SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION. Only candidates who successfully submit one application will be considered for admission.

The Application Process

Upload clear copies of passport photo, O'level result, JAMB result and other documents.

Pay the screening fee securely online and keep your receipt.

Review & Submit

Review your details and submit your application. Final submission locks editing.

Admission Requirements

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements.

  • Minimum of five (5) O'level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
  • Candidates must have chosen SUMAS as first choice in JAMB, or change to SUMAS on JAMB CAPS (efacility.jamb.gov.ng) before applying.
  • UTME candidates must have scored 150 and above in the current UTME.
  • O'level results must be uploaded to JAMB CAPS at efacility.jamb.gov.ng.
  • Direct Entry candidates must possess relevant qualifications in addition to O'level requirements.
  • Transfer applicants must provide official transcripts from their previous institution.
Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

  6. 6Review your information, ensure everything is correct, then submit your application.
  7. 7Print your acknowledgement slip and keep your payment receipt for your records.
When making payment, the narration/description must be your JAMB or Direct Entry registration number.
